The more you use Claude, the more it quietly builds a picture of you: your job, your tools, your goals, how you like to be talked to. The problem is that a lot of that picture is half-right or out of date. It guessed some of it, you mentioned some of it once six months ago, and it never went back to check. So you end up getting answers built on a version of you that isn't quite real anymore.
This prompt fixes that. It makes Claude audit what it thinks it knows, interview you to correct it, and rebuild a clean profile it treats as the truth from then on. It runs in three rounds.
How it works
- Round 1, the audit. Claude lists everything it currently believes about you and rates its confidence on each one, so you can see what it's sure of and what it's guessing.
- Round 2, the interview. It walks you through everything that's shaky or outdated and asks you to confirm, fix, or delete it, one question at a time.
- Round 3, the rebuild. It writes a fresh, clean profile from your answers and locks it in as the source of truth for every answer going forward.
The exact prompt
Paste this whole thing into Claude as one message. Don't trim the rounds, the order is what makes it work.
You're going to audit and rebuild what you know about me, in three rounds. Do them in order and don't skip ahead. ROUND 1: AUDIT Lay out everything you currently believe about me: my work and role, the tools and tech I use, my goals, my active projects, my preferences, and how I like you to respond. Put it in a clean list. Next to each item, rate your confidence as High, Medium, or Low, and say in a few words where that belief came from: something I told you, something you inferred, or a guess. Be honest about the Lows and the guesses. ROUND 2: INTERVIEW Now interview me. Go through every Medium and Low confidence item, plus anything that looks like it might be outdated, and ask me focused questions one at a time so I can confirm, correct, or delete each one. Don't move on to the next until the current one is settled. When you're done, ask me what's missing that you should know about me. ROUND 3: REBUILD Using my answers, rebuild my profile from scratch. Write it as a clean, organized summary I could hand to a brand-new assistant: who I am, what I do, the tools I use, my goals, my current projects, and exactly how I want you to work with me. Drop anything I corrected away or couldn't confirm. Then save this rebuilt profile and treat it as the source of truth about me from now on. Whenever something you remember conflicts with it, the profile wins. If you ever notice it going stale, tell me and offer to run this audit again.
How to use it
- Run it in a normal chat. Just paste it and answer the questions in Round 2 honestly. The whole thing takes a few minutes.
- Make it stick. If you have Claude's memory turned on, it'll hold onto the profile on its own. If you'd rather pin it, copy the Round 3 profile into a Claude Project's instructions, or into your personal preferences in settings. Now every chat starts with the real you.
- Re-run it now and then. Your tools and goals change. Running this every couple of months keeps the profile from drifting back out of date.
Why it works
Most people never see what the AI assumes about them, so the wrong assumptions just sit there shaping every answer. This prompt does two simple things that fix that: it forces Claude to show its confidence (so guesses can't hide as facts), and it makes you the final say on what's true. The rebuild at the end is the part that matters most, because a clean profile it actually trusts beats a pile of half-remembered notes every time.
Run it once and you'll be surprised what it had wrong. Keep the rebuilt profile somewhere it'll stick, and re-run it whenever your work changes.
